Working towards innovation, Development or Improvement of Products, Processes or Services. or Scalable business model with High potential of Employment Generation or Wealth Creation. Provided that any such entity formed by splitting up or reconstruction of a business already in existence shall not be considered a Startup.

Brief Process
ELIGIBILITY TO BE REGISTERED AS STARTUPS
Only following Constitutions are eligible for Startup Registration: Private limited company, Registered Partnership firm, or Limited Liability Partnership CONSTITUTIONS WHICH ARE NOT ELIGIBLE Proprietorship, Unregistered Partnership firm, Public Ltd Co, Trust, Society, HUF etc. Organisations only Up to ten years from the date of its Incorporation/ Registration are eligible. Turnover for any of the financial years since incorporation/ registration of the organisation should has not been exceeded Rs.100 Crore.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS (IPR)
• Fast-tracking of startup Patent Applications, • 80% rebate in filing of patents.
TAX EXEMPTION FOR 3 YEARS
Income Tax exemption for a period of 3 consecutive years out of 10 years since incorporation. • To be approved by Inter-Ministerial Board • Incorporated on or after April 01, 2016 but before April 01, 2022. (April 01, 2023 as provided under Budget 2022)
Relaxation in Public Procurements Norms
• Registration at GeM • No requirement of Prior Turnover • No requirement of Prior Experience • No requirement of Earnest Money Deposit
SELF-CERTIFICATION UNDER LABOUR & ENVIRONMENT LAWS
Self-certify the compliances under 9 Labour Laws and 3 Environment Laws for a period of upto 5 years from the date of incorporation. In respect of 3 Environment laws, units operating under 36 white category industries (as published on the website of Central Pollution Control Board) do not require clearance under 3 Environment related Acts.
